Josh Phifer

Having grown up working on family ranches across Wyoming and Nebraska, Josh has a deep firsthand understanding of rural asset management. He transitioned from the ranch to the skies, graduating from the United States Air Force Academy and serving a distinguished career as an F-22 instructor and test pilot. Before retiring from the military, Josh spearheaded cutting-edge innovation as the Director of Technology Development at the Air Force–MIT AI Accelerator, embedding deep expertise in AI integration and complex tech programs. Armed with an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, Josh combined his agricultural roots and advanced technological background to found Barn Owl. Today, he leads Barn Owl with a sharp focus on delivering remote monitoring solutions to improve the security and efficiency of ranchers and farmers.
